Courtney Boyd Myers (twitter @CBMyers) , The Next Web‘s (@thenextweb) East Coast Editor featured 11 New York based start-ups worth following in 2011 and @Watchitoo was one of them!
She described that last year “In 2010, New York City took the world by surprise, unleashing a flood of start-ups and funding power, giving Silicon Valley a run for its money, literally. Start-ups like Gilt Groupe and Etsy have already proved their potential to attract mass markets outside of the tech community.” She discussed as companies like Meetup, Tumblr and Foursquare have exponentially grown and planted seeds for growing networks within the tech community. “Spawning so many opportunities for entrepreneurs, engineers and tech enthusiasts” they generate “new business ideas that could very well turn into their own multi-million dollar enterprises.”
Exciting to see 2010 favorites quickly growing, but the article named new companies making waves in the New York City Tech Scene such as: GroupMe, SalesCrunch, and new e-fashion start-ups Fashism and GoTryitOn. Watchitoo was also featured here as force “making huge waves in video consumption” highlighting the B2C and B2B offerings, highlighting unique features: embeddability, social media intregration, and No Download necessary!
All of Watchitoo offerings were overveiwed and they even mentioned where our start-up got its name: “Watchitoo provides a collaboration platform integrating content sharing, webinar functionalities, livestreaming, and networking all in one service. The interactive viewing experience gives the start-up its name; Watchitoo is a play on words “Watch it too” for “watching it together.”
